BRICs Emerging Markets

Jim O’Neill, head of Global Economic Research at Goldman Sachs — who coined the acronym ‘BRIC’ to describe Brazil, Russia, India and China as the world’s leading emerging markets — provides an update on their growing economic influence. China, he says, needs to grow on average only 5% to become the world’s largest economy in 20 years — half its current rate of growth.
