Drought

Regional climates will change as a result of global warming, and not all regions will be affected in the same way. Rainfall is expected to increase in some areas and decrease in others. Large areas will be subject to extreme and prolonged drought. Extended periods of drought are already affecting a number of continents, impacting food production and the water resources available to animal and human populations. Some major cities are experiencing unprecedented water shortages.
