World demand for lithium has increased dramatically, driven by the growing use of lithium batteries. If plugin cars are widely adopted as expected, lithium will become an even more strategic element. The largest deposits in the world are located in Bolivia and Tibet. Bolivia has already begun to position itself as the Saudi Arabia of the next energy economy based on its huge lithium deposits.
