Scientists are becoming increasingly concerned about the health of the world’s oceans. Ocean temperatures and acidity are increasing. Fish stocks are declining, and many large fish species are now endangered. Huge floating islands of indestructible plastics have accumulated in several oceans, fed by currents and an endless supply of terrestrial garbage swept out to sea.
