Quantum Computing
Computers have always used physical phenomena to store and manipulate information — representing bits, for example, using electromagnetic states. Quantum computing will use quantum states instead, allowing thousands or even millions of calculations to be performed simultaneously. Computations could eventually be done in seconds which now take weeks to complete. The implications are enormous if such a system can be built.
